Strawberry BBQ Sauce

Summer is here, that means that BBQ season is here too!

For today, I made a sweet and spicy BBQ sauce to go with crispy oven baked chicken wings. Careful though! This recipe will sure leave your hands sticky but it's oh so good! The spicy part is optional... but man, who doesn't love some hot, sweet and spicy BBQ wings? Am I the only one? Well...

What I really love about this recipe is that you can make it yours and semi-homemade! How? It's actually really simple, instead of using store-bought strawberry preserves you can make your own strawberry preserves at home. Just add sugar, lemon juice, and strawberries into a pot! Yup! It's that simple. I didn't have the time to make my own, so I bought a jar to make my sauce.

Here is the recipe!

Strawberry BBQ Sauce

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cup of BBQ Sauce
  • 1 cup of Strawberry Preserves
  • 1 tsp of Red Pepper Flakes (optional)

Procedure:

1. Preheat pot on low heat.

2. Add 1 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce.

3. Add 1/2 cup of strawberry preserves.

4. Add 1/2 a tsp or 1 tbsp of red pepper flakes. It depends on how hot you want the sauce to be. You can also substitute the flakes for hot sauce.

5. Let it simmer for 5 minutes or until well combined and enjoy!

I hope you give this recipe a try and like it! I know I loved it!

Bon appetit!
Love,
Mimi
